I believe we should be asking ourselves these questions if the human race is to continue evolving to higher levels. If not, our ignorance could cause irreversible damage to the Earth.
In my opinion, the solution to the world’s energy crisis is not to produce more energy. It is to use less. I believe we need to understand nature’s balance and live according to a spiritual plan that honors our planet and our children and grandchildren. When implemented properly, technological discoveries will advance the demand for energy, while taking into consideration the costs to clean up the by-products.
I am a firm believer that we cannot afford to continue to pollute our atmosphere or our streams and rivers through the dilution of gaseous or liquid waste. In the 1970s, the harm to the Hudson River was apparent. Diluting liquid waste into the river almost killed all life forms. With help from the River Keepers and other concerned citizens, the reversal of this dilution practice brought the river back to support fish life once again.
I hope we never get to the place where we are unable to reverse the damage to our planet. That is why I am a strong advocate, activist, and proponent of energy efficient homes that make alternative forms of energy feasible.
